    They are SOCIALLY NECESSARY Buses

Kent County Council are considering reducing the subsidy it gives to 78 bus routes all over Kent. The bus operators have warned that these services could be withdrawn if the subsidies are cut. You can find a list of buses that could be axed by clicking here.

People rely on these vital bus services - schoolchildren, disabled and elderly people and their carers. People who can't drive will find it harder to get to doctors or hospital appointments. People living in rural areas will struggle to get to the shops. As a result KCC has chosen for many years to keep these 'socially necessary routes' running by paying bus companies a contribution towards their costs. .
