Liberal BirdHaving attended an outstanding Annual Lunch last Saturday at Ash Village Hall provided by the Dover Branch of the East Kent Coast Liberal Democrats and where Sir Simon Hughes gave an excellent speech, I am in a contemplative mood.

The theme of Simon's speech was what do we stand for as a party and how do we communicate that to the wider community?

His answers as I understood them were that we stand for:

And how can we communicate this:

It's all very well me sitting on my sofa writing this missive but this doesn't achieve any of the above! We need to work together if we are to achieve any of this in Thanet. At the lunch I met with some Thanet members whom I had not seen for some time, as well as many members from around all other parts of East Kent and realised I need to do more to keep in touch with Liberal Democrats in Thanet. If you have any ideas on how I can do better please let me know by emailing me at

Our next branch meeting is on Tuesday 20th November at 7.00pm and is kindly being hosted by Robert Stone at The Bay Tree Hotel in Broadstairs. Please come to this meeting if you possibly can where we can share our thoughts in a sociable setting. If you are unable to come to the meeting or have some burning ideas that can't wait then please share your thoughts in reply to this email. I check my inbox at least daily, hoping for messages!!

I look forward to seeing you soon.

Best Regards

Angie Curwen
