John believes residents of Margate should be given another opportunity to vote in favour of a Parish or Town Council. "The last consultation was inadequately publicised. Residents were not given enough information about the benefits of having a parish or town council and consequently they were not fully informed."

"Nearby Broadstairs and St Peters have an excellent Town Council where local people are elected by their neighbours to deal with local issues." said John.

"Town Councils can provide for many services often overlooked by higher levels of authority such as Thanet District Council and Kent County Council."

"Decisions being made at a level about concerns by people are one of the many benefits of town councils. Why is it necessary for many decisions about our streets have to be delusions made in Maidstone!"
